You need to make sweet tea first to create kombucha. Remove the tea from heat until the tea is completely dissolved and cools to room temperature, and pour the sweet tea into the jar (Do not use air-tight jars. It requires air for fermentation). Add SCOBY into the jar. It will take approximately 20 ~ 30 days to complete fermentation.
